EDIT:
I have since spent more time with this flower and would like to revise my assessment. when properly trimmed, and the bent stems are cut off, these nugs are kind of nice. about what you'd expect from a 14% flower. the smell really is quite beautiful, and almost petrichor-like. very fruity (mango. peach), floral, and a bit peppery. However, I still can't get past the wet dog taste. It doesn't happen every time but it's bad when it does. and it's certainly effective stuff. Additionally, the LGP team has been in touch and takes QC very seriously and I'll be discussing this more in-depth with them later. Fantastic response from the company.
This is my 7th medical cannabis flower and my first CBD flower! CBD helps me walk without a limp, and takes care of the majority of my debilitating chronic pain. As you can imagine, I was very, very excited to try my first ever CBD flower. Sadly I was let down.
GENETICS
God Bud (Hawaiian x Purple Skunk). Hawaiian landraces are known for their tropical aroma and uplifting high. Purple Skunk is similar in feeling despite taking on a partially purple appearance. Interestingly, both strains are known to smell like lavender.
APPEARANCE
It brings me no pleasure to speak poorly of weed, but this is really not much to look at. reminds me of really bad BM hydro with a poor trim job. The colour is khaki/pale green/brown. very subdued. There are some purple florets here and there, and sometimes an even purple hue, but it is mild. There are an abundance of crow's feet, mostly yellow ones. they are basically coating the nugs. Few trichomes. Some of the buds have been literally RIPPED off the plant. Some of the nugs are compressed. The buds are a little sticky, and a level of dryness that I think most people would like, with a little give to it, but still super crisp. by no means wet, but it is the least dry medical weed I've seen.
SMELL
Strikingly gin-like. Herbal, fresh chilli, and almost volatile. Reminds me a lot of the C9T7 Argaman. Some sweetness, dried mango, mint, and plum. Certainly does smell in part like lavender, but lacks the same smell texture of real lavender. Highly complex, but sadly very muted. Low terp levels here I'm sure.
The lovely smell left me unprepared for what came next, when I put it through my dynavap and bubbler. Instantly, the unmistakable smell of wet dog. I've had weed taste like ibis, but never wet dog. I hope this isn't due to mould or something. Regardless, major letdown.
EFFECT
It's CBD. Either you notice it a little, or you don't. It's 14%. I was already consuming THC but given this is under 1% you'd have to smoke a lot to feel anything. CBD works wonders for my fibro/chronic pain so this will work nicely.
Revised Summary:
Appearance: 4 (these nugs have been torn off the plant by a madman. there are so many leaves. at least it is well cured)
Smell: 6 (complex, and I like the mango, but weak, and wet dog taste)
Effect: it's CBD
Good for: Chronic pain, Insomnia, stress, anxiety, remembering what wet dog smells like
Bad for: CBD patients. We deserve better
Anything else: Given this is my first pure CBD flower I can't compare it to anything else, but this is fairly low-grade stuff. not the worst weed I've come across, but the worst medical flower I've seen so far. My initial review was slightly too harsh and hasty. Still, I wouldn't recommend this flower.
Total: 5/10
