First signed up after a friend had used them for first consultation for restless leg syndrome. I am a metastatic breast cancer survivor using this medicine to help manage depression, stress, insomnia and joint pain. When I had my first consultation the doctor seemed to know very little about strains or alternatives to flower. I should mention that I am a dual Canadian citizen and grew up in British Columbia, the weed capital of the world and have experience in this space before using cannabis medicinally, so I know a thing or two, but not a lot, about cannabis, certainly would expect that my doctor would at least have more knowledge than little old me. I had an interstate trip coming up that was going to be stressful AF and needed a discrete delivery method that I could still medicate while staying at my in-laws house without them knowing, so I asked for a cart. He said he didn't know much about carts, and I would have to talk to 'his wife', who knew better, in a separate call. Turns out his wife was running the in-house dispensary. Okay. So, fine he prescribes me some flower that he recommends, but not a cart. Fine okay, so I try to arrange to speak to the wife (Rina) but when I call the clinic I either can't get anyone to pick up the phone or I get someone who sounds like they are probably a virtual assistant working out of their house in the Philippines. It was days of calling and leaving messages through the chat function on their website before I got a call back and they just couldn't get their head around what I was asking for. To get through to Rina was like trying to get through to the King himself at Buckingham Palace. We were two days away from flying out at this point and I was STRESSING HARD that I wasn't going to have this cart arranged in time to fly out, but finally Rina rang me and to her credit, she was awesome. She listened and offered great suggestions, understood my need for discrete consumption and basically said I could ask for whatever product I wanted and she would give it to me. Sweet, right? Rina was great. AND she personally made sure they Express Posted my medicine so that it arrived in time for our trip. If Rina had stayed on and been my contact going forward, this review would have been very different.
But by the time I had to reorder, Rina had apparently moved on from the company. I did a little experiment after discovering CannaReviews and discovering strains I would like to try based on my knowledge of my own conditions, and just texted the Trava dispensary with those strains. They stocked most of them, but when I was charged I couldn't work out why the amount charged to my CC ($515) was so much for just 2 jars of flower and one cart, given the RRP I had seen on CannaReviews for these products. When I tried to clarify these charges with whomever was on the other end of the text message at the dispensary they effectively LAUGHED IN MY FACE and literally said: 'I don't know where you're getting those prices. We charge xxx and xxx and xxx ( each product was between $20 - $40 more than RRP, plus post).
They do not supply an e-script or any evidence whatsoever of your medical status, which made me feel quite uneasy given the climate in Australia still with legality and whatnot.
I have been looking to leave Trava for a few months now, and only stayed because, well, they were letting me choose whatever I wanted and I wanted to shop around strains a bit and wasn't confident another clinic would give me such freedoms. But for the price I'm overpaying and for the poor service, I am ready to move on to Medicann or Acacia probably.
