This clinic is really nice to go into & the staff are great but when I added up what I had spent with them on fees, mark-ups & denied subsidies it totalled over a thousand dollars within a six month period. While a large part of that included the initial consultation the rest of the unnecessary expenditure was nothing short of scummy. They marked up half the tubs I tried, adding 15-25 dollars on to the RRP for products that should be affordable (Tasbot, Blue Mountain for example). My health care card was useless there. They pushed Cannatrek products but didn't offer the subsidy. Indimed products can only be scripted elsewhere (at a cost of a doctors appointment for each and every time adding almost $90 to the total) and possibly the most vile thing of all would have to be when you go in there and get charged a fee just to use your card to pay for your medicine. I ended up spending over $40 in fees over 6 months just for the 'privilege' of paying for my medicine. Take a moment to reflect on that! If the above wasn't enough just wait there 's more. Plantmed offer NO REPEATS instead offering a hold script system which serves as half a repeat. I say half because you're limited to 4 medications only using this system. It's a piss poor pathetic excuse for a system that only someone who is unaware of how things work outside the bubble of this clinic would find acceptable. Unfortunately, for a time I WAS that naïve patient & I paid for it, quite literally. Due to the no repeats system I would find myself picking up a months worth of medication at a time which was barely affordable to do & left me surviving off very little, but if I hadn't done this I would have lost even more money on extra appointment fees. Stuck between a rock and a hard place. Speaking of dispensing, you will never get your medication the same day as your script. Instead you have to wait for a call from dispense & then wait for it to actually be dispensed. While this never took more than a day, if you go to a chemist with an e-script for something they have in stock you can get that medicine in around 5 minutes so even when at its best the dispense system here is highly inferior. It would be remise of me not to mention the mandatory CBD oil policy. I actually want CBD oil & still get scripts for it elsewhere so I didn't mind this but the oil I was prescribed at plantmed definitely wasn't the best value on the market, & as it was a Cannatrek product it's hard for me not to again consider the lost subsidies I could have had access to if this place had even a modicum of compassion for the finances of its patients. I don't fault the staff TBH. It's clearly the owner being extremely money hungry. You can find him on the altmed podcast revealing his psychopathy when he spoke about operating on elderly patients only to wonder 'what the point of it was'. I wish I had seen that before I attended this clinic. Since leaving plantmed I've changed to an AP who gave me a couple of months worth of repeats (with substitutes allowed to rotate flowers) in escript form. I was only $40 out of pocket for that, cost me nothing to transition & the pharmacy I went to dispenses my medication in around 5-10 minutes. Sometimes the grass really is greener. I strongly encourage anyone who is with plantmed to leave & find somewhere that won't hold you upside down & shake the change loose from your pockets. Even if you have unlimited access to money why burn it away at somewhere so exploitative? Plantmed are taking full advantage of the lack of information available to prospective patients and should not be supported.
